SEVENGLORY DELIVERS SOPHOMORE ALBUM, ATMOSPHERE, OCT. 30
Band To Join “First Things Tour” with Warren Barfield This Month

Sevenglory Oct. 3, 2007—7 Spin Music pop/rock band Sevenglory introduces its latest studio project, Atmosphere, Oct. 30. In support of its sophomore release, the band will team up with recording artist Warren Barfield on his “First Things Tour” to launch this weekend.

A collaborative effort, Atmosphere features production by Don Chaffer (Waterdeep, Sara Groves), Quinlan (Everyday Sunday, ZoeGirl, The Benjamin Gate) and Ian Eskelin (Stellar Kart, Everyday Sunday, Krystal Meyers), along with contributions by fellow co-writers singer/songwriter Brandon Heath and award-winning artist/producer Ian Eskelin, among others.

As on its previous record, Sevenglory’s musical style is straightforward and accessible, with lyrics that explore social as well as spiritual concerns regarding the Christian’s role in a hurting world. Lead single, “Just Me,” currently at No. 9 on the Radio & Records CHR chart, affirms the band’s call to action, while similarly, “The Hope,” inspired by Sevenglory’s partnership with World Vision, reminds listeners of their responsibility to effect change.

Frontman Fred Butson explains, “The world needs God’s love. It’s not a mystery. I think the difficult part for many Christians is saying out loud that the world needs our help. I believe that the moment we really become aware of this need, we will never be the same. We must respond. It takes our hands, minds, and willingness to get out there to cause change. Each of us is called to use his or her individual abilities, so that the sum of our efforts meets the stakes at hand.”

Also a prevalent theme on Atmosphere is the acknowledgement that Christians often feel insufficient or unworthy of God’s love. Songs like “All You Want,” “All of This for You,” and “Lay It All Down,” speak to the reality that God doesn’t ask for perfection but rather for our best. As Butson reflects, “The grace and love of my Savior will make me who He wants me to be, who I truly desire to be.”

Sevenglory will debut music from Atmosphere beginning this weekend as part of Essential Records artist Warren Barfield’s “First Things Tour.” Kicking off Oct. 6, the tour will play 20 shows throughout a dozen states mostly in the Midwest. An up-to-date tour itinerary is available at www.firstthingstour.com.

Comprising Fred Butson (lead vocals, guitar), Gabe Johannes (drums), Caleb Johannes (bass) and Josh Parsons (guitar), Indiana-based band Sevenglory formed in 2001 and has since established a devoted following at colleges, churches and youth gatherings throughout the upper Midwest. The group linked up with the newly formed 7 Spin Music in 2004, and released its debut album, Over the Rooftops, on March 7, 2006. Over the Rooftops was received enthusiastically by critics, including The Dallas Morning News who described the record as “…one of the best debuts in a very long time, with a level of musical and lyrical maturity that is rare in this genre.” Sevenglory continues to maintain a demanding tour schedule, having previously toured with popular artists such as Seventh Day Slumber and Downhere, playing more than 150 days a year. Based out of Valparaiso, Ind., 7 Spin Music was formed in 2004 by Peter Khosla. The independent label is part of a family of music companies that includes booking, management, and publishing. Other 7 Spin Music artists include Red Umbrella, All Star United, Hello Kelly, and Heath McNease. 7 Spin Music releases are distributed by Provident-Integrity Distribution and general market distribution is through Sony-BMG.
